ERAS:
Y2K- originally meant to represent the year 2000, this term has come to indicate items made from 2000-2009.
True Vintage- Typically used to indicate items made before 1980. derived from the original idea of vintage.
Style:
Grunge- related to the style of mid to late 90s grunge rock styles, think flannels ripped jeans and faded tees
Disco- Most common when relating to 70s era shirts and pants. Typically made of polyester and featuring interesting patterns.
Gorpcore- Related to outdoor technical wear. patagonia ,the north face, and arcteryx are typical brands in this category.
Prep- Polo shirts, pastels, cableknit sweaters. This style embodies classic prep school attire.
Y2K- When used to describe the style of clothing this term embodies a wide range of styles from Baggy Jnco Jeans to Affliction shirts.
Details:
Single Stitch- most commonly used to indicate the style of stitching used on t shirts more commonly befor the mid 90s . indicates a single line of stitching on the sleeves and/or hem. also used when describing certain Levi's jeans from before the mid 80s. Indicates a single stitch on the interior of the back pocket vs a chain stitch.
